A leader

A Leader
A leader is best when people hardly know he exists;
Not so good when people obey and acclaim him;
Worst when they despiae him.
But of a good leader who talks little,
When his work is done, his aim fulfilled,
They will say, "We did it ourselves."

The less a leader does and says,
The happier his people;
The more he struts and brags,
The sorrier his people.

I read this poem from a book named Clinical Interviewing, this poem was written by Lao Tzu. It is a poem for leader, but it can also apply when therapist is substitued for leader while the people is actually the clients.

A leader is not for bearing all the responsibility for his people. A good leader knows how to inspire and motivate others to take their own responsibility, these help the growth of his people. If the people only know how to obey every command, the leader is fail.

Finally i learn this,i hope it's not be too late for me, to be a better leader, and hopefully, a therapist.
